For the next six nights 700 children from public housing communities will have a chance to attend a Los Angeles Dodgers game thanks to catcher Carlos Ruiz and his program called Chooch’s Chicos. The first group of children from Nickerson Gardens attended Monday night’s game where the Dodgers secured a 2-1 win against the San Francisco Giants. The best part of the night for the kids was meeting Ruiz in person.
Ruiz’s program aims to provide children from low income Latino families with a unique and memorable experience at Dodger Stadium. Ruiz provided transportation, tickets in the Right Field Pavilion, and an all-you-can-eat meal.
Children from William Mead Homes, Pico Gardens, Ramona Gardens, Imperial Courts, Pueblo Del Rio and Estrada Courts will attend the game for the next six nights.
Thank you Dodgers and Carlos Ruiz for providing a one of a kind and unforgettable experience to our children!
