On April 6, 2018 HACLA was joined by Councilmember Joe Buscaino and Van Scott from Bridge Housing on a tour of phase 1A of the redevelopment of Jordan Downs in Watts. When the redevelopment is complete, the amount of units will double from 700 to 1400 creating more affordable housing in Los Angeles with zero displacement along with a new 115,000 square foot retail center. An important component and source of pride in this transformative project is the hiring of community residents who are now taking part in building the future of Watts!
